I was just informed that Bar JET is going to have a guest female musician playing a few Japanese language acoustic songs during one of the breaks tonight. I don’t know her name, only that she is the daughter of the Naha promoter that is going to start producing a remake single of “Tequila Rose” that will feature house band JET drummer Koji (Kochan) and some other new female artist next month. So if you’re in the Gate 2 Street area of Koza (Okinawa City) come check it out. And advanced apologies to our regulars if we happen to be too full tonight due the free music-based club tours that tend to fill-up the club rather quickly during the first set. Good news is the band plays five forty-minute sets starting at 9:00 p.m. breaking at 9:40 and restarting every hour on the hour (10:00, 11:00, etc.). So there is a good chance things will clear enough for you to be able to come and relax comfortably and with breathing space.

Last night a group of young volunteers visited Bar JET to introduce a new plan that is being considered for implimentation, free music-based club tours of Koza. There have been similar tours in the past and, according to the info I’m getting, there will be various types of tours offered.
As for Live Music Bar JET, we haven’t had a cover (live or door or whatever you call it where you’re from ) charge for the past nine years. Our doors are open to everyone on a first come, first serve basis.
But, if you’re not quite comfortable going it on your own yet, than one of the tours might be your introduction ticket to the world of Koza music-based clubs.

If you’ve been keeping up with the site, then you already know that this past weekend was Appin’s last as JET guitarist. As of 1 September, 2006 the band will be introducing two “new” members. Continuing in the role of JET guitarist, as well as vocals, is Eddie Ueda and on keyboards and vocals his lovely and very talented wife, Mimi. With this change in band members comes a different, yet familiar, sound and repertiore. If you were on island throughout the ’80s, these two will be familiar in combination with Taki as the band Bullet. Come check out one of the island’s most popular band combos of the ’80s. Bar JET’s doors open on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with JET hitting the stage at 9:00 p.m., playing five sets until 1:40 a.m.

We thank everyone who came out to see Appin on his last weekend as the JET guitarist. (If you missed this weekend, there are plans in the working for him to play his final encore performance for his Osaka fans. This year the annual November concert is being scheduled for Sunday the 5th.)
