***ALSO, we thank all those who enjoy the live performances of the Ryukyu Island rock band JET at Live Music Bar JET. However, we also support proper payment of royalties to songwriters. Public broadcasting of the private videos containing cover songs by those artists works against that effort. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in joining in with the effort of giving credit to those artists who deserve acknowledgment for their hard work by not posting videos containing their copyrighted material.

We thank everyone who came out to see Appin on his last weekend as the JET guitarist. (If you missed this weekend, there are plans in the working for him to play his final encore performance for his Osaka fans. This year the annual November concert is being scheduled for Sunday the 5th.)

Happy New Year everyone!!! This is the Chinese Year of the Dog. The official Chinese New Year will be on Sunday, January 29 this year. So if you missed out on the first celebration, there’s always time for another chance to ring in the new year.
We want to thank all of you who came out, endured the total madness we call Bar JET New Year’s Eve, and helped ring in the Julian New Year 2006. We especially want to say Thank You to everyone involved in the mania for maintaining the spirit of the holiday and making it an enjoyable night for all. Here’s hoping you all have a safe, happy, and prosperous 2006!

At the end of Saturday night, one of our regulars told me that there had been a “Best of…†vote earlier this year in the Stars and Stripes and that Bar JET was voted #1 in the live music category for Okinawa. We want to thank all of you who voted for us. We’re sorry that we didn’t thank you earlier, but we didn’t even know about the voting. I just wish I could find the article on the net, so I can show it to the band! I’m sure they would get a kick out of actually seeing in print that you think so highly of them. Again, thank you for acknowledging the effort they put into the music.
